Dyed Window Tint After 3-5 Years
Many people think window tint is just window tint, but there are actually three main types of film: dyed, carbon, and ceramic. Dyed window film is the cheapest option you’ll find at many shops, but it typically only lasts 3–5 years before it fades or turns purple, leaving your vehicle looking bad requiring costly removal and replacement.
Carbon window film is a big upgrade—it’s far more durable, won’t ever fade, and offers some heat rejection, unlike dyed film. At the top of the line is ceramic window film, which provides the best heat rejection, UV protection, and optical clarity without interfering with signals like GPS, Bluetooth, or radio.
At JC Tints, we do not offer dyed film because it simply doesn’t last and ends up costing you more in the long run.
